Liverpool are closing on a deal for Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell.

The Sun says Claudio Ranieri is poised to make Sporting Gijon defender Luis Hernandez Leicester City's his first signing of the summer.

Hernandez's arrival at the King Power could pave the way for Liverpool to complete their £4million move for young full-back Chilwell.

That will be bad news for under-fire Alberto Moreno who has struggled to find his form this season.

The Spanish international was heavily criticised after Jurgen Klopp's side lost 3-1 to Sevilla in the Europa League final.

But Reds boss Klopp sees potential in Chilwell, 19, to be a long term successor to Moreno – even though he has not made a Premier League appearance this season.
