Liverpool are closing on a deal for Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland.
The Mirror says the Reds are confident of sealing a record-breaking £40million deal for Stoke keeper Jack Butland.
The 24-year-old has impressed at the Potters and could well be England's No.1 at this summer's World Cup finals.
Arsenal are also interested in Butland but it is believed the player would favour a switch to Anfield and the prospect of working with Jurgen Klopp.
Stoke are resigned to losing their star man but are demanding a fee which will eclipse the current world record outlay for a goalkeeper, the £34.7m which brought Ederson to Manchester City from Benfica.
