Liverpool first team coach Mike Marsh is convinced Steven Gerrard will get better in his new defensive midfield role.
Marsh admits the new responsibility is not alien to the inspirational Scouser having excelled there at international level - but claims he could play anywhere in the side, anyway.
"He's a world-class player," Marsh told Liverpoolfc.com.
"He has played in numerous positions before and it's another string to his bow.
"It's a position that's not new to him as he's played there on a number of occasions, particularly for England, so I think he'll only get better at it."
