Liverpool coach Ablett backs Nemeth for Premiership breakthrough

Liverpool management are pleased with the return to fitness of Hungarian striker Krisztian Nemeth.

Last season's top scorer has been sidelined with a fractured cheekbone sustained during his first appearance on loan at Blackpool at the end of January.

"Sooner or later we have got to take the L plates off him and let him go again, and he has been looking sharp in training and scoring goals," reserves coach Gary Ablett told liverpoolfc.tv.

"He has been very unfortunate with injuries this season. He went away with the first team in pre-season and from the cameo roles he made he looked very dangerous.

"It was all going really well for him but he then picked up an injury playing for Hungary and it's been frustrating since.

"If he had been fully fit all season he would probably be part of Rafa's first-team plans now, but there's still over two months until the end of the season.

"If he continues to impress and score goals like he did last year, then he might get a first-team chance before the end of the season."

Nemeth was handed 70 minutes in last night's 2-2 draw with Wigan.
