Liverpool co-owner Gillett insists he's not selling up

George Gillett insists he's not planning to sell up his share of Liverpool. The Reds' co-owner has brought in top financial advisers BMO Capital Markets to assess all his global investments.

Yet Gillett was staggered to hear rumours that he is ready to offload his 50 per cent stake in the club.

Gillett told The Sun: "Any links with the situation at Liverpool are incorrect.

"We have made no decision to sell."

The American is ready to sell his NHL ice hockey outfit Montreal Canadiens.

But that could help raise funds for July, when he and partner Tom Hicks must refinance the £350million loan they took out to buy Liverpool.
