Liverpool are believed to be close to securing the services of England right-back Nathaniel Clyne from Southampton for £12.5million.
The 24-year-old is entering the final year of his contract with the Saints and is seen by Liverpool manager Brendan Rogers as a like-for-like replacement for the departing Glen Johnson.
Southampton originally rejected a £9million bid for Clyne, but the express.co.uk. reports they are now willing to complete a deal following Liverpool's improved offer.
Clyne would become the sixth player to move to Anfield during the current summer transfer window.
