Liverpool are close to agreement with Blackpool over a fee for Thomas Ince.

The Daily Star Sunday says Ince is poised to complete a £5million switch from Blackpool to Liverpool – 18 months after quitting Anfield.

Brendan Rodgers has moved closer to landing the midfielder, 20, after Tom’s dad Paul Ince stepped in to help with negotiations between the Reds and the Seasiders.

Now the Lancashire club has dropped its asking price by £3million after Rodgers refused to fork out £8million on the former Anfield starlet.

And with issues over a 10 per cent sell-on fee now ironed out, sources say a deal will be struck soon.
