Jamie Carragher has opened contract talks with Liverpool in an attempt to remain a one-club player throughout his career.
The 32-year old defender's current deal expires at the end of the season but it is expected that a new contract will be sorted which will see Carragher retire as a Reds player.
A three-year deal has been mooted for Carragher, who has his testimonial match against Everton this weekend, and he was confident something would be finalised soon.
"We'll come up with something on the contract situation in the next week or two," he said.
