Liverpool chief Rick Parry believes FIFA's plans to limit the number of foreigners in league teams simply won't happen.

He told liverpoolfc.tv: "You can maybe see some benefit for national teams, although that is not necessarily proven.

"In some ways I am not convinced it is a ridiculous idea because it puts a premium on coaching and management rather than just trading. If it became the same rule for everyone, we would have to get on with it, but legally it would be a huge leap.

"Obviously, the floodgates opened after the Bosman Ruling that set clear legal guidelines. It would be difficult to close the door now."
