Liverpool sports chief Michael Edwards is in the final stretch of closing a deal for Roma midfielder Mohamed Salah.
The Daily Mail says Roma are looking to sell but want close to £40 million while Liverpool may push to £35m for the 24-year-old after initially offering £28m.
Discussions are continuing between Edwards, Liverpool's sporting director and new Roma transfer supremo Monchi.
Liverpool failed with their opening bid of £28million to sign Salah from Roma.
The Egypt international has already declared he wants to move to Anfield in the past week.
