Liverpool chief Comolli plans ambitious move for Wolfsburg star Diego

Liverpool are being linked with a sensational move for Wolfsburg midfielder Diego.

Diego signed for Steve McClaren at Wolves, but was suspended after the Englishman's dismissal for acting up.

Liverpool's Director of Football Strategy Damien Comolli is said to be a big fan of Diego.

Comolli is looking to bring an attacking midfield talent to Anfield to sit behind his newly acquired attacking partnership of Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll and the Merseysiders are preparing to table a £15million bid in the summer.

Interestingly, Wolfsburg have been linked with Liverpool defenders Dan Agger and Martin Skrtel in recent weeks.
