Liverpool chief Comolli: Capello watching Cole at Lille

Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole remains on England coach Fabio Capello's radar at Lille.

The Mail on Sunday says Capello has been checking up on Cole at French champions Lille as he looks to solve the problem of who will replace Wayne Rooney for England's first three group games at Euro 2012.

Liverpool sporting director Damien Comolli said the England boss had spoken to him about Cole's form in France and the possibility that he could push for a place in the England squad for next summer.

"With Rooney suspended, he's looking at all options," said Comolli.
