Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayre has remained at the Copa America in Chile following the £29million signing of Roberto Firmino.
Ayre has stayed back in Chile in an attempt to lure Sevilla's Carlos Bacca or Zenit Saint Petersburg's Salomon Rondon to Anfield.
According to reports on standard.co.uk, Livepool will consider tabling an offer for either one of Bacca or Rondon, should their attempt to sign Christian Benteke from Aston Villa not materialise.
It is understood that Aston Villa are unwilling to lower their £32.5million valuation of Benteke and with the Reds not interested in buying at that price, it is unlikely a deal will be made.
However, with Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers eager to add strike power to the attacking third, Bacca and Rondo may become more viable options.
