Liverpool chief Ian Ayre is in Spain today to close a deal for Atletico Madrid defender Javier Manquillo.
The Mirror says Ayre has flown to Spain in an attempt to hurry along negotiations.
Manquillo has played at every age group for the powerful Spanish, from U16 to U20, and the next step is to gain experience with the full squad.
The right-back is close to agreeing a package that will take him to Anfield on an initial two year loan deal, but with an agreement in place to make the deal permanent for around £5m.
