Liverpool are eyeing PSV Eindhoven striker Ola Toivonen.

The Mirror says the versatile 27-year-old, who has been linked with Newcastle, can play in midfield or along the front line, and would provide the cover boss Brendan Rodgers needs in his injury-hit squad.

Toivonen, who has been on the Anfield giants' radar since Kenny Dalglish tried to sign him in 2010, and will be a free agent in the summer when his contract with PSV Eindhoven is up.
