Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard admits he was impressed by Everton for yesterday's 0-0 draw.

Gerrard credited Everton for their improvement after the clash.

"We all wanted (a goal) at the end, mainly for this fella (Jamie Carragher) playing in his last derby," Gerrard told Sky Sports 1.

"Everton have improved a lot. They've had a good season and are difficult to beat and that sums our season up in a way.

"We played well but lacked the cutting edge against the sides above us. We'll take a point but we're slightly disappointed it wasn't three."
