Liverpool defender Steven Caulker is confident that the Reds can win the League Cup this year if they can replicate their performance from the 6-1 win over Southampton from earlier in the season.

Caulker was a part of the Saints team which were humiliated by the Merseysiders in December and suggests if Jurgen Klopp's side can bring that rampant display to Wembley in Sunday, they will get past Manchester City to hold aloft the Capital One Cup.

"It's a different (build-up), but nonetheless there's still great excitement around the city and I'm sure there will be in the changing room in the build-up to the game," Caulker told Sky Sports News HQ.

"So it's great to be part of it and to see those scenes in the semi-final at Anfield was quite breath taking.

"I'm well aware of how good this team can be, I felt the full force of them that day and if the boys can put a performance on like that at the weekend, they have a great chance of winning."
