Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish wants to buy a new winger before the January market closes.
Dalglish is today in meetings with Reds principle owner John W Henry about his transfer budget.
The Daily Mail says Dalglish needs a wide man and Aston Villa's Ashley Young and Stewart Downing have both been discussed, as has Wigan's Charles N'Zogbia.
Liverpool are also interested in Villa's left-back Stephen Warnock.
