Liverpool are in advanced talks over the signing of Olympique Lyon fullback Aly Cissokho.

The Reds have turned to the France cap after losing out to Manchester City in the battle for ex-Arsenal left-back Gael Clichy.

Le Parisien says Cissokho is on the verge of signing for Liverpool for a fee of €10 million.

He has made 60 appearances for the Ligue 1 side, and has earned one international cap for Laurent Blanc's Les Bleus team.
