Liverpool are close to announcing a deal for AZ Alkmaar winger Rasmus Elm.

Reds manager Kenny Dalglish and chief scout Steve Hitchen travelled to Feyenoord on Sunday to see the AZ Alkmaar midfielder play according to De Telegraaf.

However Elm didn't play in the game after becoming a father the night before.

It's understood Elm will cost Liverpool around €7million, and the club hope to complete a deal before he heads to Euro 2012 with Sweden in the summer.
