Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers will ask the question of AS Roma over Fabio Borini's sale after Euro2012.
Borini has declared he wants to stay at Roma, while new coach Zdenek Zeman is also keen to work with the former Chelsea junior.
However, La Repubblica says Rodgers is determined to test Roma's resolve and is willing to pay £10 million to land Borini.
