Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is ready to sell Jordan Henderson.

The Shields Gazette says Rodgers needs to sell the England U21 captain to raise funds for his own transfer plans.

Liverpool have seen a flurry of activity in the transfer market this week, having finalised deals for winger Luis Alberto and forward Iago Aspas.

The club also signed former Manchester City defender Kolo Toure, and secured the services of Sunderland keeper Simon Mignolet in deal thought to be worth £9m.
