Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers insists they're capable of returning to the old days of competing for the world's great players.
Rodgers is expected to have a small budget in January but claims the days of Liverpool spending big in the transfer market are not completely finished.
Asked if he could imagine the five-times European champions competing for £20million players, he said: "Absolutely.
"I think it will be a great day because that's where the club should be.
"The investment, as everyone knows, in a small period of time was very big from the club so this was always going to be a season of assessing and trying to bring in players who can fit the model."
