Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is warning Raheem Sterling against chasing the money.

Sterling - with 18 months left on his current deal - earns £2,000 a week but Liverpool will increase that to £20,000.

The teenager's advisers know Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea could easily blow that figure out of the water.

But Rodgers has previously cautioned against paying crazy wages to "a young player that hasn't achieved anything". He said: "All the figures that get bandied about for kids these days can destroy them."
