Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is desperately trying to secure Raheem Sterling to a new deal before January.

The Mirror says Rodgers is trying to push through a quick solution to Raheem Sterling's contract saga - as Liverpool fear they could lose him otherwise.

Arsenal are the latest club to check on the teenage star, which has only increased the pressure on the Reds to resolve the issue.

Manchester City and Chelsea are also keen on the youngster, who made his full England debut last month.

Liverpool have now stepped up their efforts and are engaged in extensive negotiations with Sterling's representatives.
