Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers says Luis Suarez is with his squad to play.

Suarez will be thrown straight back into action for Wednesday's clash with top Aussie side Melbourne Victory at a sold out MCG.

When asked if the controversial striker would feature, as well as Steven Gerrard taking another step back after shoulder surgery, Rodgers said: "Absolutely.

"The players are not quite up to 90 minutes yet but all the players will be involved.

"They all have some part to play because it is about our preparation.

"Luis is a Liverpool player and he will be part of the group."
