Liverpool boss Rodgers says Yesil, Morgan under consideration

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers says he's delighted with the progress of two of his young strikers.

Fabio Borini will undergo surgery on a fractured bone in his foot, meaning there could be chances for some of the club's younger strikers should Luis Suarez sit out any games.

But Rodgers insists he must think carefully before deciding who is ready for that chance.

He explained to liverpoolfc.com: "It is great for me to see the young players. Adam Morgan scored a couple of excellent goals for the reserves and Samed Yesil is a goalscorer.

"It is just a case of weighing up whether they come in or not. Not every young player can play. This is an unforgiving league and my job is to nurture the talent and not destroy it.

"We have other players so that we may be able to have some flexibility within the team to cover for Borini."
