Liverpool boss Rodgers retains Reina faith

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers insists he hasn't lost faith in goalkeeper Pepe Reina.

This term a hamstring injury kept him out for a month and stand-in Brad Jones' displays - plus a dip in Reina's early-season form - have left him scrapping for his place.

Reina, 30, finally returns today and Kop boss Rodgers said: "I have absolutely no qualms about Pepe.

"He is intent on making himself a better keeper and when we have that, we have one of the best in Europe.

"It's all about confidence and losing confidence happens to every keeper - look at Joe Hart against Sweden.

"Pepe is our No 1 keeper and I know that he's committed and determined to continue at the top for the next nine or 10 years.

"But it's important for any player to know they have a challenge."
