Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is confident landing 'exciting' transfer targets before the summer market shuts.

Rodgers was bitterly frustrated to miss out on his prime target Henrikh Mkhitaryan, the Armenia forward who has joined Dortmund from Shakhtar Donetsk. But he is pursuing a number of other options and believes those will help Suarez flourish.

"I am confident that we will get the one or two players who will really excite and complete the jigsaw," said Rodgers. "We are looking for good players. We just need a couple more that can give us that quality.

"I am really happy with where the squad is at. If we can add just one or two more, we will have a small, tight-knit group that will really be able to push forward."
