Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is delighted with the progress of Jordan Henderson.

Henderson again impressed in victory at West Ham United.

"He's understanding what his role is, and the importance that he has within the group," Rodgers said. "And he's done very well.

"He's a terrific lad, and the most important thing with him is he wants to learn.

"He works very, very hard at his game and he's been coming on in games and starting games for us and doing very well.

"He scored the winner against Udinese, and at West Ham you could see that his energy and his ability to press and pass the ball was very good. It was his run that created one of the goals, of course, and I was delighted for him."
