Liverpool boss Rodgers has sympathy for under pressure Villa boss Lambert

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has some sympathy for under pressure Aston Villa counterpart Paul Lambert.

Liverpool could encounter a strange atmosphere with the home fans planning to boycott the first eight minutes of the game in protest at the state of their club.

Rodgers is keen for his side not to be distracted by the show of dissent though.

He said: "It is unfortunate that is the case.

"Paul [Lambert] is a very good manager who is doing the best with the resources that he has.

"It is one we have to go there with our own concentration and focus on our own job, whether there is five people or 50,000 people in the stadium, it can make no difference to us."
