Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is heavily involved in new contract talks with Raheem Sterling. The Kop boss has been happy to take a back seat in talks with senior stars like Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel - who have both signed new deals recently.
But with Sterling, it is a different story.
Rodgers revealed: "For me a lot of this is about common sense.
"I don't want the club or the kid being affected by over-the-odds demands. All the figures that get bandied about for kids these days, it can destroy them.
"I'm in the business of trying to help nurture these kids and money distorts the reality.
"So I've always tried to ensure I give my point of view. I've spoken to the agent and I know the agent so there's no problem. It's just one of these things that will get done - and I am confident it will be."
