Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers was delighted with Jordan Henderson's performance in their win over Olympiakos.
The 24-year-old jetted to the United States seven days ago, kicking off his personal preparations for the new campaign following his participation at the World Cup with England.
"It tells you everything about him," reflected Rodgers to liverpoolfc.com. "He was only back a few days and I played him for 15-20 minutes in the first game.
"He's a very integral part of how we work, he presses the game so well. His physical condition is at a really high level. He's just one of those very fortunate boys that are naturally so fit.
"But he also works very hard at his game. He got through 90 minutes tonight, which was great for him. Martin Skrtel and Brad Jones got 90 minutes as well, so we have players across the board that are getting good minutes under their belt."
