Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is delighted with the form of Steven Gerrard this season.
This has been Gerrard's best season, both in terms of fitness and form, since Liverpool went close to winning the Barclays Premier League in 2009 and Rodgers believes his influence is such that, even at this stage of his career, he remains priceless.
"Steven Gerrard is a unique player," said Rodgers. "When he came on at Oldham, it was like someone had dropped him from Heaven into the game. We went to a totally different level when he came on. Unfortunately, at this stage, I can't say that without Steven Gerrard we would be alright.
"I don't believe we would. This is a top, top player who gives so much quality but also with his enthusiasm. The youngsters here won't have a greater role model to learn off than Steven Gerrard. If they are bright enough, they will."
