Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers was impressed by Manchester City's two-goal Stevan Jovetic in today's 2-2 draw.
After drawing 2-2 in normal time, Liverpool won a penalty shootout at Yankee stadium.
Rodgers said afterwards: "I thought they were unfortunate. Jovetic is very bright, he is alive in the box, he just nicked in and it was unfortunate with the first goal that it was deflected off Stevie (Gerrard).
"His second goal was something similar. We have to also respect the quality that we're playing against - they are a top side. We played very well; we conceded a couple of goals, but so did they."
