Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has explained the absence of Steven Gerrard for victory over West Ham United.
Gerrard was due to play his 700th game for the Reds yesterday.
Rodgers said: "After the game the other night, his [Gerrard's] hamstring was tight.
"We've got a lot of games over the coming months, so we didn't want to risk it when we have other players that are fresh."
