Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is delighted with what he's seen from Philippe Coutinho in preseason.

Coutinho struck in yesterday's friendly win over HJK Helsinki.

"Philippe has come back in really good condition," said Rodgers.

"He has worked over the off season and all the testing and analysis has underlined what great shape he's in. Tonight [Saturday] was about getting as many minutes as we could for him.

"He got 80 minutes and you could see his influence on the game. He gives the team real fluency and in the second half he was outstanding."
