Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is confident there is no rift with Swansea City over his interest for Joe Allen.

Swans have expressed frustration with Liverpool's move for the Wales midfielder.

"We've spoken with Swansea," Rodgers told Sky Sports News. "I have a brilliant relationship with Huw Jenkins and we've had a private conversation that will remain private.

"There's obviously been a lot of speculation off the back of that and unfortunately a lot of it is wrong.

"Joe is a very talented player but I don't want to say any more about that one."
