Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is counting on Barcelona and Manchester City target Dan Agger.

Rodgers has revealed Agger will participate in a practice match this weekend to enhance his match fitness after he missed Thursday's Europa League win over FC Gomel in Belarus.

"We have a behind closed doors game for him this weekend to help his match fitness," he told liverpoolfc.com.

"Daniel is fit, but we have to make sure his physical condition is up to speed. He wasn't going to play and as that was the case, I wanted him to use that time to work on his physical condition."
