Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers had no problem with Mario Balotelli being out on Saturday night.
Balotelli attended the Nathan Cleverly - Tony Bellew fight barely hours before Liverpool's defeat at Crystal Palace.
"Mario came back from the Italian squad and the groin was still sore," said Rodgers. "We'll assess that over the next few days."
Asked if Balotelli was out with his blessing, Rodgers added: "He was obviously free. He wasn't out too late and he was in for treatment today."
