Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers was delighted with Joe Allen's performance in their 2-2 draw with Manchester City.

The Welshman was outstanding in the Reds midfield.

"The Liverpool supporters will enjoy watching this kid play football," said Rodgers.

"We paid £15million but I said when he came in that price will double. Some people probably laughed."
