Liverpool boss refuses to blame under-fire Mignolet

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has once again jumped to the defence of his goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.

Mignolet has put in a couple of poor performances for Liverpool this season and the Belgian international made another error in Craig Dawson's goal during the Reds' 2-2 draw against West Bromwich Albion at Anfield on Sunday.

Nonetheless, Klopp is refusing to criticise Mignolet and has stated that the surrendering of Dawson's goal was not his goalkeeper's fault.

Klopp said: "I said to Simon at half-time, if somebody says it was your fault, it is not true, it is my fault. I have nothing negative to say about Simon.

"They had six or seven players who were six foot four or taller and that is really difficult to defend but we will do better and work on it.

"In England it is really difficult for goalkeepers to come out as there is no-one to protect them but he can help if he comes out."
