Liverpool chief Rafael Benitez saw his side beat Everton 2-0 in the 208th Merseyside derby. The Spanish tactician was pleased for Torres as Everton ended the game with ten men following Tim Cahill's late sending-off.
"It was important for him (Torres) and for us that he gets two goals in a derby. It is massive," he said.
"They needed to score then, so they were going forward and we got more space and more time.
"The first thing I would say (about the red card) is that nothing changed because we were better than them already at that moment. It was a bad tackle but I did not see it clearly."
