Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp insists he never panicked when losing Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona in January.
For many, the Brazil midfielder's sale has inspired Liverpool's run to the Champions League final.
Klopp told Spanish reporters last night: "After Coutinho's departure, people panicked and I remained calm? This is my role in general.
"I respected Phil's wish from the first second. It's not like I'm doing this all the time, but I did it in this case. He had signed a new contract a few weeks ago, but you know ... I was very clear. He would not have asked me for another club, but at the same time we had to be tough in the summer because we had no other solution. He finally understood.
"'We can do it in the next transfer window,' he told us. We did not want to, but we did it because we thought (Adam) Lallana was coming back, although he did not get there because of his injuries."
