Liverpool boss Klopp vows to exact revenge on rejoicing Villarreal

Jurgen Klopp is now even more intent on getting the better of Villarreal in the Europa League semi-finals.

Liverpool were beaten 1-0 by a last-gasp Adrian Lopez goal in the first leg at El Madrigal on Thursday night which spawned wild celebrations from the home team.

It was a hard-fought encounter in the east of Spain which according to Klopp was slightly marred by the entire Villarreal bench frantically jumping for joy on the pitch.

The German insists he is now desperate to wipe the smile off the face of the Yellow Submarine at Anfield next Thursday after they may have gone a little early in their rejoicing at reaching the final of Europe's second tier club competition.

"My first instinct when everyone was celebrating around me was that it is not over, you have to come to Anfield, too," said Klopp

"It is only the first leg."

He added: "It is 1-0 and they have to come to Anfield where we know how strong we are. We had our moments, we defended really good.

"This race is not over.

"Things are possible and 1-0 is not the biggest result in the world."
