Liverpool are in the hunt for Rennes whizkid Ousmane Dembele.

The Guardian says Liverpool have been offered encouraging signs in their pursuit of Dembélé, with Jürgen Klopp's side now competing against Borussia Dortmund to sign the French teenage sensation from Rennes in a deal that could be worth almost £28m.

Dembélé is believed to have spoken to Klopp on the phone this week and is said to have been impressed by his plans for the Europa League finalists, although it is not clear when a decision will be made.

"I already know where I'll go," the teen said this week. "It is final."
