Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was attracted to Fabinho's versatility when pushing through his signing last month, it has been revealed.
Liverpool beat Manchester United to Fabinho at the tail end of last month, signing the Brazil international from Monaco.
The Liverpool Echo says the Reds were particularly keen to sign Fabinho given his versatility.
The player has blossomed in the middle of the park for Monaco, helping them scoop the Ligue 1 title from under the noses of PSG in 2017.
But he can also play out wide, or at the back, and Jurgen Klopp admires him for doing so.
It was reportedly for that reason Liverpool chose to gazump United by paying £43.7million to secure his signature.
Fabinho is in line to make his Reds debut next week at friendly opponents Chester City.
