Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is prepared to buy a striker this month, it has been revealed.

The Liverpool Echo says Roberto Firmino will not be available until the end of pre-season after his exploits with Brazil at the World Cup.

And that could force Klopp to sign another forward before the transfer window shuts.

Liverpool's other options in attack are Divock Origi, Daniel Sturridge and Danny Ings.

But Klopp could look to bolster his ranks if they fail to impress in the coming weeks.

Firmino was in fine form last season, netting 27 times and providing 17 assists in all competitions.
