Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has reacted in his typical jovial fashion to the news of the Reds failed £66m bid for RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita.
The German suggested that he was not fortunate enough to have the luxury of rejecting such bids when he was managing in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund.
When asked about Leipzig owner's comments that Keita would remain with his club, Klopp responded: "Mr Mateschitz? What did he say? Lucky man, huh?
"They don't have to sell players. When I was at Dortmund we always had to sell players.
"Meanwhile, they don't have to sell players any more so, obviously, I'm always a little bit too late.
"What can I say? There's nothing to say about this."
