Liverpool boss Klopp names Markovic in squad

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has named Lazar Markovic in his Premier League squad.

The Serbian had been expected to leave this summer having been unable to force his way into Klopp's plans, reports the Liverpool Echo.

But despite interest from a number of clubs – among them Watford – a transfer failed to materialise. Markovic watched Mamadou Sakho exit on deadline day, while Divock Origi, Ryan Kent, Allan Rodrigues de Souza and Jordan Williams left on loan.

Markovic's last competitive appearance for Liverpool came in May 2015 under Brendan Rodgers. Since then there have been loan spells with Fenerbahce, Sporting Lisbon and Hull City – with varying degrees of success.
